Our doctor sees patients on site at Flushing Ave. Exam, imaging, prescription, and frame fitting in one visit, without a referral across town. Wallabout and Monsey handle glasses and contacts; exams are Flushing Ave only.
Comprehensive eye exam
Inside and outside the eye for signs of disease, then vision tested several ways.
Fundus photo
Images of the retina, optic disc, and lens through the pupil, kept on file to track change year to year.
OCT scan
Optical coherence tomography: a non-invasive cross-section of the retina, standard or on request.
Visual field test
Perimetry that maps your full field of vision, including peripheral vision.
Contact lens fitting
Trial lenses, measurements, and a walkthrough for first-timers. Reorder here once you’re fitted.
Dry eye
Diagnosis and treatment when your eyes don’t make enough tears, or the tears don’t hold.
Punctal plugs
Tiny silicone plugs in the tear ducts so tears stay on the eye longer. Done in the office.

Cataracts: is surgery around the corner?
Not necessarily. A cataract diagnosis usually means years before surgery is needed, and there are steps that slow progression and protect vision in the meantime: UV protection, managing blood sugar, no smoking, and regular monitoring so we time surgery well.
Glaucoma treatment
Drops, laser, and surgery remain the standard, and they work best when glaucoma is caught early. Newer options aim to reduce side effects and how often you need treatment. The single most useful thing is a regular visual field test and OCT so pressure damage is caught before you notice it.
Myopia control for children
Nearsightedness is common and it is not harmless: higher myopia raises lifetime risk of retinal problems. Specialized lenses such as MiSight 1 Day and certain spectacle designs can slow how fast a child’s prescription grows. Ask about it at your child’s exam.
Blue-light blocking lenses
Hours on screens cause computer vision syndrome: dry eyes, redness, headaches, blurry vision. Our Envision Blue Blocker lenses filter the blue range and reduce strain. They are not a substitute for breaks: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
